Creative Research into Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP) is a research centre of the University of the Arts London dedicated to the exploration of the rich complexities of sound as an artistic practice.

Our main aim is to extend the development of the emerging disciplinary field of sound arts and to encourage the broadening and deepening of the discursive context in which sound arts is practised.

Research Feature: Ora

A monthly series of one-hour long debates and voyages into listening and writing by Daniela Cascella and Salomé Voegelin, with occasional guests. Broadcast on Resonance104.4FM at 8pm GMT on the 4th Thursday of each month. Two writers and listeners meet on the grounds of their respective blogs. Their words begin to shake those grounds. They glide along and sharpen the edges of individual listening, in a plurality of texts, voices and sounds. Sometimes they might even remain silent, listening to other voices, or be stuck in mutual echoes and repetition.

Member Profile: Salomé Voegelin

Salomé Voegelin is an artist and writer engaged in listening and hearing as a socio-political practice of sound. She is the author of Listening to Noise and Silence: Towards a Philosophy of Sound Art, Continuum, NY, 2010, and Sonic Possible Worlds: Hearing the Continuum of Sound, Bloomsbury, 2014.
