A new audio visual installation by Matt Parker, Fields of Athenry, commissioned by Brighton Digital Festival & Digital Research in Humanities and Arts Conference, University of Brighton (DRHA 2016).

'Juxtaposing found footage of football fans chanting the popular Irish song “The Fields of Athenry”, with a series of sonic investigations undertaken at the site of Apple’s new data centre in Athenry, Ireland, Matt Parker presents Fields of Athenry, an audiovisual investigation into how the medium of YouTube can be used to connect what Athenry is, to what it might become, as the small rural town prepares to allow one of the largest data centre complexes in the world to be built nearby.'
