For day two of Cafe Oto's fundraising week, they present the debut trio performance from acclaimed writer and musician, David Toop, alongside experimental vocalist, composer and arranger, Yifeat Ziv and electro-acoustic composer and performer, Lucie Stepankova; plus a rare solo set from the phenomenal vocalist and movement artist, Elaine Mitchener.
This year's LCC Staff Conference theme is 'Into the Wild' and will focus on our relationship with nature and responsibilities to the planet, acknowledging the value we place on an ecology beyond the humancentric. CRiSAP staff will be leading a 'Three Forays into the Wild with Sound”.
SRU present: AURALDIVERSITY: towards a greater awareness of differences in hearing and listening. Much in the world of music and sound studies operates from the assumption that everyone hears the same, or hears in the same way. Yet this is not so. Any individuals capacities will change of the course of a life time; people may differ in regard to their physical hearing apparatuses or the cognitive functions relating to audio processing and there are also cultural sensibilities and preferences at play.
