Sonic Screen is a space for LCC Screen School Staff to talk about and share work with colleagues. This can be work in progress, prospective ideas, dreams of future work or finished research. It can be presented informally, creatively, performed or powerpointed. The format is up to you. Each month two people will share ideas for 20 minutes each followed by 20 minutes discussion. Please do come along and support your colleagues.

Ingrid plum
Ingrid Plum (UK/DK) is an artist and composer who uses her voice with extended technique, improvisation, field recordings, percussion and electronics. Described by The Guardian as “gorgeously atmospheric vocal techniques woven around field recordings & electronics” she has performed and exhibited internationally since 2002, creating work that combines Film, Folk Music, Contemporary Classical Music and Sound Art. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Plum is a student of Meredith Monk, combining her research in folk traditions, extended technique and phonography to create interdisciplinary work.
Stuart Hilton
Stuart is also an artist/filmmaker working primarily with experimental mixed-media animation. He has a long career in directing, animating and designing commercials and graphics for TV, film and other media. Alongside working as a commercial and independent artist, he has also been a lecturer for over 20 years and joined BA (Hons) Animation in 2020 taking on the role of Interim Course Leader at the beginning of 2021. His experimental animation film works have exhibited at major International Film and Animation Festivals such Stuttgart Animation Festival, Animafest, Zagreb, Annecy, France, Fantoche, Portugal, Eyeworks Festival, Chicago, London International Animation Festival, London Film Festival, ICA Biennial and Edge of Frame at Barbican.
Sonic Screen is co-ordinated by Thomas Gardner and Brad Butler. The events will take place monthly on the last Wednesday of each month. To propose a presentation please feel free to contact Thomas and Brad.
