Sound Acts: is a get-together, a showcase of creative couplings between music/sound, performance art/gesture and gender/body/activism.
"During the three days of the event, we hope to explore various points of conjunction of the above through both theoretical presentations and discussions, as well as musical (or amusical) performances, interventions and installations. Some of our points of reference are: theatricality in musical happenings, the idea of post-performance, cyborgs and the relation between technology and the body, drag shows and cabaret, music that can not be categorised and may consist of contradictory sub-parts, self-referentiality, anti-art and conceptualism, feminist art and body art, synaesthesia and the boundaries between senses, the relationship spoken word and music, the idea of messthetics and the DIY ethos of dada and fluxus and in general reflecting on the way music is created and consumed, as well as who are the subjectivities from which it emerges and whom it addresses."
